Gregory Davenport was born in Dallas, TX. His father, Charles Davenport, was also born in Dallas; his mother was Ceola Thomas. Together, they raised four daughters and a son. In contrast to his mother, who had four girls and one boy, Gregory has four sons, one daughter, and two grandsons.
