Kodak announces full-scale commercialization of new KODAK SONORA Ultra Process Free Plates in Europe

Kodak, the industry leader in process-free plate technology, is excited to announce it will upgrade its SONORA XTRA-3 customers in Europe to the latest innovation in the SONORA line, KODAK SONORA Ultra Process Free Plates.

SONORA Ultra Plates were introduced at the drupa trade show in June 2024 as a premium product with significant performance improvements over competitive offerings and the KODAK SONORA XTRA-3 Process Free Plates currently used by many Kodak customers in Europe. Performance advantages include image contrast (up to 9x stronger than competitive products), white light exposure tolerance (5x better) and plate image stability (up to 6 weeks when stored in the dark). Following a successful test program in Europe that confirmed the superiority of the SONORA Ultra Plate, Kodak is now moving to full-scale production.

By manufacturing high-quality plates in Osterode, Kodak continues to offer customers in Germany and other European countries fast and reliable delivery to help maximize their productivity.
