Ceres to highlight advanced solutions to monitor supply chain deforestation
In a crucial year for deforestation action, Ceres is highlighting innovative ways companies can use technology to reduce the climate and nature risks facing their businesses from forest loss and degradation in their supply chain. Much attention will be on forests this year, with COP30 taking place in the Brazilian Amazon, the European Union’s Deforestation Regulation set to go into effect, and many of the world’s largest companies having ambitious no-deforestation pledges tied to 2025.
As Ceres CEO and President Mindy Lubber writes in Forbes.com
“Deforestation has the potential to disrupt businesses’ supply chains, compromise productivity, and increase production costs. With more than half the world’s economy reliant on nature and the services it provides, safeguarding natural ecosystems is critical to helping companies ensure the long-term viability of their operations and supply chains.”
Greta Fearman of financial institution Cardano and Michel Santos of global food giant Bunge will join Ceres’ food and forest expert Carolyn Ching, as well as other experts, for an insightful virtual discussion. Journalists are invited to cover the discussion. Register here.
