Enel Foundation: new scientific committee for an increasingly innovative and multidisciplinary approach
The first meeting of Enel Foundation’s newly formed Scientific Committee, made up of 15 top Italian and international experts from the worlds of science, academia, and culture.
Extremely diverse in terms of skills, experience and geographical background, and with a more balanced distribution of genders and age groups than in the past, the new Scientific Committee has been structured to assure a range of perspectives and promote an innovative and multidisciplinary approach to global energy transition and sustainable development challenges.
The Committee, which is headed by Laura Cozzi, Director of Sustainability, Technology and Outlooks and Chief Energy Modeller at the International Energy Agency (IEA), is composed of:
· Francesco Billari, Rector of Bocconi University, Milan;
· Paolo Boccardelli, Rector of LUISS University;
· Stefano Corgnati, Rector of the Polytechnic University of Turin;
· Manlio Coviello, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile;
· Izael Pereira Da Silva, Strathmore University, Kenya;
· Michael Mehling, Deputy Director of the MIT Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research (CEEPR);
· Carlos Nobre, University of São Paulo;
· Ignazio Perez Arriaga, Pontificia Universidad Comillas;
· Valentina Petrone, Head of Global Services Positioning and Transformation Office, Enel;
· Nicola Rossi, Head of Innovation, Enel;
· Donatella Sciuto, Rector of the Polytechnic University of Milan;
· Gauri Singh, Deputy Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA);
· Robert N. Stavins, Harvard Kennedy School;
· Helen Watts, Executive Director of Student Energy.
