FedEx Accelerates Import Delivery to Saitama by One Day

Federal Express Corporation, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, is enhancing its service to better serve customers importing to certain areas in Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture. Importers can now receive their deliveries one day earlier for inbound parcel and freight shipments arriving in Japan on a weekday.

The enhanced service applies to customers who are using FedEx International Priority® Express (IPE), FedEx International Priority® (IP), FedEx International Priority® Freight (IPF), FedEx International Economy® (IE) and FedEx International Economy® Freight (IEF).

Koshigaya City boasts a thriving manufacturing sector and is home to many small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) that produce high-quality products used around the world. Approximately 70% of FedEx customers in the area are businesses in diverse industries such as machinery, medical devices, sports equipment, food wholesale, automotive parts, and information communication technology (ICT) equipment, all of which are actively trading to produce and sell their products.

FedEx continues to optimize its global network and update its services. Earlier this year, the company announced one-day faster delivery for packages arriving in select areas of Kyoto. Advanced technologies and AI have been supporting customers in Japan since last year. These include FedEx Surround, which offers intelligent monitoring and intervention to enhance control and visibility of shipments, and the FedEx Import Tool, an innovative solution utilizing advanced technology to address the increasing complexities of international trade.
