In J’hanctum, a galaxy twice removed from ours, the enigmatic Wehtiko, inexplicably upsurge beyond the control of the elite alien military force known as the Qi-Tahh Supremacy. This diabolical disease is an affliction of evil and unleashes the darkest nature of those Influenced, its origin is unknown, the cure is elusive, and once infected neither the host nor their planet can ever be completely freed of its barbarous effects.

To contain the outbreak, the Ohdens, ancient, disembodied brains, rulers of J’hanctum, dispatch their Life Protectors to subdue the Influenced until their madness can be treated, and learns planet Argen is the source of the escalation and home to two peaceful species-the Dir-nays and the Eanois; friends for decades.

While the Zahnobein Qi-Tahh fight to quash the Influenced and protect those endangered until inoculated, the Elphah and eight of his Pridesmen mysteriously vanish. With time running out and facing an unforeseen circumstance that jeopardizes the assignment, they must forego searching for their missing members and complete the mission within the allotted time, or the Life Protectors will be forced to destroy the planet and everyone on it, including the Pride, to keep the Wehtiko from Influencing the universe.

Eric Peter Brown, born in Rochester, New York, was a child drawn to adventure and action, both in life and on television. At a young age, he gravitated toward thrilling series like Land of the Giants, Lost in Space, and Star Trek, fueling his passion for storytelling.

His journey as a writer began early, crafting action-packed stories before he was in high school, but life’s obstacles derailed his dreams.
