American Express Ranks No. 4 Among 2025 100 Best Companies to Work For, Marking 25 Years on the List

American Express has ranked No. 4 on Great Place to Work’s® 2025 list of 100 Best Companies to Work For ® in the U.S., marking the company’s 25^th year on the list and sixth consecutive year in the top 10.

“Our strong placement on the list this year is particularly meaningful as we celebrate our company’s 175^th anniversary,” said Stephen J. Squeri, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in a memo to U.S. colleagues about the news. “Throughout our history, American Express colleagues have helped the company grow and transform, bringing our brand to life for our customers since our earliest days. I’m incredibly proud that the spirit of ingenuity and dedication to our values is stronger today than ever.”

The ranking is based largely on employee feedback conducted by Great Place to Work from colleagues in the U.S. on how well companies create generous, supportive, and high-performance workplaces for everyone. 94% of colleagues who participated in the survey said that American Express is a great place to work, which also aligns with the company’s annual internal survey results.
