Sandy Baltimore strike nominated for WSL award
Sandy Baltimore’s opener in our 2-2 draw against Brighton and Hove Albion has been nominated for the Barclays FA Women’s Super League Goal of the Month award for March.
It took just 16 minutes for the France international to break the deadlock at the Broadfield Stadium, as she made no hesitation in crashing a volley into the top corner. It gave Seagulls goalkeeper Melina Loeck no chance.
That goal was Baltimore’s fourth of the season in the Women’s Super League – and she has since scored her fifth with another brilliantly hit effort in our Champions League comeback against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
Our left wing-back has been nominated for the award alongside Melvine Malard (Manchester United), Yuka Momiki (Leicester City), Fuka Nagano (Liverpool), Ashleigh Weerden (Crystal Palace), Mariona Caldentey (Arsenal), Grace Clinton (Manchester United), Beth Mead (Arsenal) and Shekiera Martinez (West Ham).
Voting is now open and will close at 11am on Monday April 7, with the winner announced on Thursday April 10. You can vote for Sandy’s stunning volley here.
Good luck, Sandy!
