Since 2018, ICAO Doc. 8071 regulation suggests that unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) should be assessed to determine their capability to conduct air-navigation (Air-Nav) aids inspection in a cost-effective manner. In recognizing the growing demand for UAV-based air navigation testing, Rohde & Schwarz developed the R&S EVSD1000, an UAV optimized receiver for performing ILS, GBAS and VOR measurements with lab instrument precision at airports. The R&S EVSD1000 also features an air-to-ground datalink (Wi-Fi), real-time recording and gapless measurements with increased location accuracy. Since its launch in 2023, customers successfully integrated R&S EVSD1000 in their inspection systems.

The conference will gather aviation safety experts, air traffic engineers, and technical specialists from across Europe to discuss critical advancements in European Regional Meetings (ERM), with a focus on the evolution of air traffic safety and technological innovation.
