Anheuser-Busch Pays Tribute to Veterans through Southwest Florida Honor Flight Mission to Washington, D.C.
Leading American manufacturer builds on longstanding partnership with Honor Flight Network bringing 76 veterans from Florida to visit D.C. memorials built in their honor
Anheuser-Busch yesterday sponsored Southwest Florida Honor Flight’s Mission XXII to Washington, D.C., providing 76 Veterans the opportunity to visit the memorials built in their honor. The company coordinated and funded the Veterans’ trip from Punta Gorda, FL to Washington, D.C. and hosted them for a special reception at Anheuser-Busch’s D.C. office, where they heard remarks from U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins, U.S. Representatives Greg Steube (R-FL-17) and Byron Donalds (R-FL-19), and Anheuser-Busch leadership.
Honor Flight Network is a national nonprofit dedicated to celebrating America’s Veterans by inviting them to share in a day of honor at our nation’s memorials in Washington, D.C, with all expenses paid. Anheuser-Busch has partnered with Honor Flight chapters across the country for the past four years to honor the contributions of our nation’s Veterans, part of Anheuser-Busch’s 150+ year commitment to serving those who serve. To date, Anheuser-Busch has helped provide nearly 250 Veterans with unforgettable experiences in our nation’s capital.
“Serving those who have served is more than a commitment for Anheuser-Busch – it’s been a key part of who we are for more than a century, and it was a privilege to carry that legacy forward by sponsoring this Southwest Florida Honor Flight mission,” said Brendan Whitworth, CEO, Anheuser-Busch. “Our nation’s heroes have sacrificed so much to protect our freedoms and keep us safe, and we are honored to extend our thanks and appreciation to these extraordinary men and women.”
Through longstanding partnerships with organizations like Honor Flight Network, Folds of Honor, the National Medal of Honor Museum, and many others, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners continue to champion the needs of Veterans, military families and first responders who have sacrificed for our country and communities – including the more than ten percent of Anheuser-Busch employees who are active service members or veterans.
“Southwest Florida Honor Flight was thrilled to partner with Anheuser-Busch to give 76 Florida Veterans the trip of a lifetime and the gratitude they deserve,” said Naomi Copeland, President, Southwest Florida Honor Flight. “Honor Flight missions are always powerful experiences that give us an opportunity to celebrate the bravest Americans among us, and they wouldn’t be possible without the hard work of volunteers, the generosity of our community, and sponsors like Anheuser-Busch.”
