Founded in 1996, the LA Times Festival of Books is the largest free literary festival in the nation, drawing over 150,000 attendees each year. The free, two-day outdoor event is one of the biggest literary festivals in the country, bringing together authors, publishers, vendors, and book lovers for a celebration of the literary world, featuring panel discussions, storytelling, and performances.

Based on real-life events and the author’s family history, “Say Her Name” reveals the complex realities of growing up in an underserved community where hope was often scarce, but love was never in short supply. Brannon’s story takes readers on a journey through her struggles with betrayal, violence, family drug addiction, and loss. Through it all, the unwavering strength and devotion of the women in her life – her foremothers – helped her survive and thrive, even when she felt submerged by her challenges.

“Say Her Name” is not just a memoir; it is a beacon of hope for anyone who has felt lost or overwhelmed. It speaks to the strength of family and the redemptive power of love.

Embark on a gripping journey of survival, healing, and empowerment with JoAnn Brannon. “Say Her Name: My Story of Foremothers and Daughters” is available for pre-order on BookBaby, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
