Helsinki Airport once again wins an international award: Best Airport in Northern Europe

Air passengers have chosen Helsinki Airport as the best airport in Northern Europe in a global airport customer satisfaction survey by Skytrax. The Skytrax survey is an internationally renowned passenger survey that measures the service level of airports and covers more than 550 airports around the world. The award was presented to Finavia in Madrid.

We’re proud that passengers have once again chosen Helsinki Airport as the best airport in Northern Europe. The global survey widely assesses the level of service and the customer experience at airports at different stages of the passenger journey. It’s clear that Helsinki Airport has a strong position among the best airports" says Ulla Serlenius, Finavia’s SVP, Helsinki Airport.

In the Skytrax survey, passengers assessed, among other things, security control and shopping and dining options, as well as services for arriving and transfer passengers.

In recent years, Finavia has extensively revamped Helsinki Airport’s terminal and its services and developed the digital customer experience. The latest additions to the airport include new lounges, restaurants, a hair salon and a pharmacy.

In addition, Finavia publishes a predicted security control queue time for the next 12 hours on its website, which has received praise from passengers.

We develop the customer experience by listening to passengers’ wishes and observing trends. The very positive feedback we have received from our customers is proof of our success" Serlenius says.

This is the eighth time Helsinki Airport has won Skytrax’s Best Airport in Northern Europe award.

In addition, Helsinki Airport recently received an award for being the best airport in Europe in the size category of 15–25 million passengers. The award was presented by Airports Council International, an umbrella organisation for airports. Learn more about the ASQ Award.
