CBGB Announces August Show Schedule To Benefit Save CBGB Campaign; The Vandals, Kid Dynamite, Misfits, Chevelle, Youth Brigade All Added to August Schedule
NEW YORK, July 26 -- After weeks of trying to receive a new lease CBGB Nightclub is still working to achieve an agreement with their landlord, The Bowery Resident’s Committee. While CBGBs has been a neighbor in good standing with the community for 31 years, they still need to secure a new lease by Aug. 31, 2005 and are planning a month of benefits. The goal of these events is to help generate support and momentum for a quick and fair resolution for a renewed lease.
Rare and autographed items have been donated from Sting, Social Distortion, Motorhead, Anti-Flag, GBH, Shadows Fall, The Shirts, Elvis Costello, The Tragically Hip, Nihilistics, and Norah Jones.
In addition to the already announced benefit shows scheduled for August, CBGB has added: Bush Tetras, Black Train Jack, Raw Power, The Vandals, The Misfits, Kid Dynamite, Youth Brigade, Flipper (special reunion featuring original members), and has even added the Vans Warped Tour After Party to these benefits.
