San Diego Printer Selects KODAK All-in-One Package as Entry Into CTP Market

Rochester, NY.- VIP Printing marked its switch to computer to plate (CTP) with reduced makeready costs and improved output quality. The San Diego, Calif. based printer purchased the KODAK All-in-One CTP Package, which includes KODAK PRINERGY EVO Workflow System, KODAK MATCHPRINT Inkjet Proofing Solution, KODAK MAGNUS 400 Platesetter and KODAK THERMAL DIRECT Plates.

“After looking into a number of different solutions, evaluating plate samples and hearing positive comments from others who use KODAK solutions, we decided that the All-in-One package would be a perfect fit for our company as we transitioned to CTP,” said Richard Gordon, President, VIP Printing. “We have saved 30 to 40 percent on makeready costs, and speed is twice as fast as it was before. KODAK THERMAL DIRECT Non Process Plates develop on press, eliminating the costs associated with standalone processors, including maintenance, chemistry and chemistry handling, and floor space requirements. Customers save time and reduce variability by decreasing the number of steps in prepress. The KODAK MAGNUS 400 Platesetter is a productive 4 page CTP device using Kodak’s Thermal Imaging Technology to deliver high throughput, efficient plate handling, and ease of use for commercial printers. The platesetter images 16 or 21 plates per hour with an optional advanced automation.
