CN8 Primetime Show Money Matters Spotlights Miles Young Entrepreneur of Southern New Jersey

MOORESTOWN, NJ – CN8, The Comcast Network, during November 2005 devoted its award-winning primetime business and consumer finance news program Money Matters, to featuring Chris Miles, founder and president of Miles Technologies, and Miles’ endeavor – the Young Entrepreneur of Southern New Jersey Award.

Money Matters is hosted by CN8’s Director of Business and Consumer News Mary Caraccioli, an Emmy Award-winning television journalist, this half-hour interactive show is geared towards solving everyday money challenges faced by everyday people - not Wall Street insiders.

Miles Technologies was featured prominently by Money Matters, with interviews featuring Chris Miles, 35, as well as the winner of the Miles Young Entrepreneur of Southern New Jersey awards for 2005 – Seth DeForest, president of Boomerang, a used office furniture distributor based on Gloucester County , New Jersey. Emerging Young Entrepreneurs of Southern New Jersey Liz Mitchell and Fred Hodge will also be featured.

The Miles Young Entrepreneur of Southern New Jersey Award was formally presented to DeForest during a ceremony at Miles Technologies in Moorestown earlier this year.

The award was conceptualized by Chris Miles, in cooperation with the Entrepreneurs Forum of Southern New Jersey, to give recognition to an under age 30 entrepreneur whose company, in accordance with the rules, had sales at or above $75,000 in 2003, made a profit in 2004 and had at least three employees other than the founder(s).

DeForest of Haddon Heights, 28-year-old CEO of Boomerang, a Washington Township retailer that specializes in repurposing and redistributing used office furniture. Boomerang is located in a 70,000-square-foot former brake plant with dramatic exposed rafters and a vast open space with a vintage biplane, a classic red Porsche and an adult-sized swing set DeForest once used to interview job applicants.

Applications and nominations are now being accepted for the Young Entrepreneur of Southern New Jersey 2006 awards, which will for the second consecutive year be presented by Chris Miles in cooperation with the Entrepreneurs Forum of Southern New Jersey.

A reception honoring the Young Entrepreneur of Southern New Jersey 2006 is scheduled for May 2006 at The Regency Palace, Mount Laurel, New Jersey.
