Novell Identity and Security Management Solutions Positioned in the Leaders Quadrant for User Provisioning
Evaluation based on completeness of vision and ability to execute
WALTHAM, Mass.— Novell today announced it has been positioned in the leaders quadrant of Gartner, Inc.’s, “Magic Quadrant for User Provisioning,” by Earl Perkins and Perry Carpenter, August 15, 2008. The Novell® portfolio of identity and security management solutions – which includes Novell Identity Manager, Novell Sentinel®, Novell Access ManagerTM and Novell SecureLogin – helps customers reduce deployment and administration costs, simplify complex provisioning, manage user roles more securely and enforce compliance with industry regulations.
According to Gartner, “User provisioning has moved beyond just an IT project implementation issue to a business program concern, one that has broader implications across the enterprise or institution and requires cross-organization communication. Failure to address this is a primary inhibitor to established user-provisioning projects, and is the most-common cause of failure. Vendors that recognize this need and are able to effectively address it have been leaders in user provisioning and remain so. This remains a key decision criterion, with equal weighting for market share and revenue.”
In 2007, Gartner also positioned Novell in the leaders quadrant of Gartner, Inc.’s, “Magic Quadrant for Web Access Management, 2H07” by Ray Wagner and Earl Perkins, Oct. 29, 2007, and the “Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Single Sign-On, 2007” by Gregg Kreizman, Aug. 30, 2007.
“Even while security spending is growing, businesses are struggling to meet numerous regulatory requirements, pass compliance audits and protect their companies and customers from external and internal threats,” said Jim Ebzery, senior vice president and general manager for Identity and Security Management at Novell. “We are pleased to be positioned in the leaders quadrant in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for user provisioning which, in our opinion, demonstrates that our integrated portfolio of identity management solutions are helping organizations address their user provisioning and roles management challenges. User provisioning is a critical piece of enterprise identity strategy and our leadership in this and broader areas of identity management continues to be a strength for Novell in satisfying customer and market requirements.”
Demonstrating its scalability and strong customer support, Novell’s identity and security management solutions are being widely deployed across many enterprise environments, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses in a variety of industries including financial services, healthcare, government and education. Our broad portfolio of identity-based solutions operate in heterogeneous environments, supporting many platforms and applications, allowing companies to leverage their existing IT investments.
