iomart Hosting Nominated for two major Storage Awards
Managed Hosting Company recognised for both its Data Centre and Hosting solution capabilities
The 2009 Award nominations for the annual storage awards, organised by Storage Magazine, have just been unveiled and iomart hosting is delighted to be nominated in two categories - Green Storage Solution of the Year and Data Centre Operator of the Year.
Now in its sixth year, the Storage Awards, or ‘Storries’ as they are affectionately known, allows the readers of Storage Magazine to vote for, and reward, companies and services that they believe have made significant contributions to the IT industry during the year. The 2008 Awards saw in excess of 18,000 votes cast.
Phil Worms, Director Marketing, iomart Hosting (www.iomarthosting.com) stated: “We are very pleased to have nominated in two categories at this year’s Storage Awards, and are particularly delighted with our nomination for Green Storage Solution of the Year as this reflects on the steps that we are actively taking to reduce the impact that our operations have on the environment. The advance in technologies such as virtualisation allows us to do more with less, so it’s incumbent on all of us involved in the data centre industry to put them to best use. But technology can only do so much. Businesses need to make sure they’re making the best use of their IT infrastructure and take advantage of available efficiencies.”
The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony on the 11th June 2009 at the London’s Tower Hotel, St Katherine’s Dock. The organisers expect the event to be attended by over 400 guests from vendors, distributors, information providers and the media.
