Author’s Blog for Novel CASE CLOSED Becomes Forum for Debate on the FBI Anthrax Investigation

Lew Weinstein’s author blog (http://caseclosedbylewweinstein.wordpress.com/ ) was initiated to promote his soon-to-be-published novel CASE CLOSED.

However, many anthrax scientists and anthrax conspiracy theorists have added comments which raise serious questions about the FBI anthrax investigation.

One email correspondent criticized the FBI investigation for ...

1.Harassing an innocent man for 3 years (Steven Hatfill)
2.Losing a lawsuit (to Dr. Hatfill) costing the taxpayers $5.8 million
3.Harassing 3 individuals at Fort Detrick to confess to the crime - Bruce Ivins and two others
4.Harassing the children of Bruce Ivins to turn in their dad
5.Driving Bruce Ivins to commit suicide
6.Claiming the case was solved only after Dr. Ivins committed suicide

In addition, the FBI has been told by senior U.S. Senators Grassley and Specter, and by Congressman Holt, that they don’t believe that Dr. Ivins acted alone if he was even involved.

CASE CLOSED develops a fictional portrayal of the FBI investigation beginning where the facts of the actual case leave off. Fictional Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) officers initiate a re-investigation of the FBI’s case which reveals stunning abuses of governmental power and a frightening scenario of what might have happened in both the anthrax attacks and the failed FBI investigation.

Readers of a pre-publication version of CASE CLOSED say that Mr. Weinstein’s fictional scenario raises many pertinent questions.

As a result of the explosion of interest in his blog, Mr. Weinstein is now being contacted by persons who believe they have relevant information regarding the 2001 anthrax attacks and deficiencies in the seven year FBI investigation.
