China Datang Corporation Subsidiary Signs 500 KTA License Agreement for UNIPOL™ PP Process Technology From Dow
Midland, MI - September 05, 2006 - Dow Technology Licensing, a business group of The Dow Chemical Company and its consolidated affiliates (Dow), today announced that a subsidiary company of China Datang Corporation selected UNIPOL™ PP Process Technology with design capacity of 500 KTA for its new polypropylene facility.
Located in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China, the plant will produce homopolymers, random copolymers and impact copolymers. Toyo Engineering Corporation has been chosen to perform the basic engineering work on the plant.
“The fluidized-bed process for UNIPOL PP Process Technology is the simplest, most economical polypropylene process on the market,” said Dr. Molly Peifang Zhang, vice president, Dow Technology Licensing. “The process is reliable, safe, and offers licensees the flexibility to produce a diverse range of products. Dow is committed to the growing China market, and we are very pleased that UNIPOL PP Process Technology has been chosen by this Chinese customer for their new polypropylene plant.”
Licensees of the UNIPOL PP Process operate more than 35 production lines around the world, accounting for more than 6.5 million metric tons of global polypropylene production.
