Dunkin’ Surprises Young Cancer Patient with VIP SEC Championship Game Experience

As millions of Americans prepared to watch the Georgia vs Alabama SEC Championship Game on Saturday, December 2, one Dunkin’ in Brookhaven, Georgia was busy arranging the surprise of a lifetime for one very special Georgia Bulldogs fan. Nine-year-old Caroline Brewer lives less than two hours from the University of Georgia (UGA) and is a Dawgs fan through and through.

Caroline was diagnosed with Anaplastic Ependymoma at three years old, and the removal of two brain tumors since have made it difficult for Caroline and her family – also big Dawgs fans – to show their support in person.

A patient at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), Caroline was the obvious choice when Dunkin’ reached out to the hospital with four tickets to the SEC Championship Game. “Dunkin’ is proud to be a long-standing supporter of CHOA and its patients,” says Associate Manager of Field Marketing Emilly Bartels. “Our hope is to celebrate these brave children and their families by bringing them moments of joy.”

To make it a moment to remember, the Brookhaven Dunkin’ team surprised Caroline with a VIP SEC Championship experience, complete with personalized donuts and limited-edition Dunkin’ swag. “We’re so appreciative,” says Matt Brewer, Caroline’s father. “Dunkin’ gets Jamie going in the morning, and Children’s helps us during the day whenever we go for treatment.”

As a sponsor of ESPN’s College GameDay through Inspire, Dunkin’ was able to create a special GameDay experience for Caroline that morning to meet celebrities like Coach Kirby Smart. She even waved pom-poms with UGA cheerleaders while wearing her very own Georgia Bulldogs cheerleading dress.
