Thrillist Launches ‘Sound Trip,’ Where Live Music Is the Ultimate Travel Destination
We’re calling it: 2024 will be a stand-out year for live music
The era of traveling near and far to concerts, festivals, and other major music events is upon us, and with summer just around the corner, Thrillist is launching “Sound Trip,” the ultimate guide to traveling for electrifying music experiences and a go-to resource for navigating the most essential concerts and events of the year.
The beautifully designed editorial package aims to make every step of readers’ next adventures as extraordinary as a headliner’s encore.
“At Thrillist, we focus on passion-led travel experiences, or more simply, going places to do the things we love,” says Thrillist Editor-in-Chief Lindsay Schrupp. “Over the past year, we’ve seen more and more people center their travel plans around a music event—whether that’s flying to Stockholm to see Beyoncé, hopping around Asia to follow the Eras Tour, or driving out to the desert for an extended music festival stay. It’s clear to us that journeying great distances to see bucket list performances is not a trend—it’s the new normal.”
Headlining the package is The Thrillist Guide to Live Music in 2024, a vibrant hub for expert recommendations, captivating stories to stoke your wanderlust, and most notably, music festival guides annotated by the people who love them and know them best. These festival guides are brought to life by on-page annotations from musical artists, past attendees, and mega-fans who shared their personal anecdotes and insider tips.
At launch, the hub will include the following festival guides and annotators:
- Everything You Need to Prepare for Jazz Fest This Year—And a Bit More
- Written by Gerrish Lopez
- Annotated by Trombone Shorty, local musician
- The Truly Honest, Very Detailed Guide to Lovers & Friends This Year
