The Secret To Being A Good DUI Attorney

In conversations with over 130 DUI attorneys over the past 6 months, myDUIattorney.org believes it has figured out why some DUI lawyers are successful at obtaining lots of clients and others struggle to make a living.

“Surprise, surprise… In our interviews with over 130 DUI attorneys, we found radical differences in the personality, empathy, and manner in which their DUI clients were treated. Their treatment of clients strongly correlated with how successful a given attorney is.” notes Richard Jacobs, marketing director for myDUIattorney.org.

Over 20 factors were analyzed amongst the DUI attorneys sampled, including whether free consultations are offered, if a lawyer is willing to do ‘outcall’ (meaning they will meet with potential clients outside the office), how aggressive the defense of the client is, the degree to which each client is offered access to their lawyer, how much time is spent with each client talking by phone or over email, and other factors.

“You would think that DUI lawyers who spend a lot of time with each client have LESS time to seek new clients and would therefore make less money, but it’s quite the opposite!” exclaims Richard Jacobs.

“The single most important factor we found in how much money a DUI lawyer makes is how well they build a relationship with their clients. The attorneys who spent the most time talking to their clients, informing them, following up, and actually showing empathy were the ones who made the most money. The secret is to care about your clients and show it and they will reward you.” Says Richard Jacobs.

Although the price point was an issue that has some importance, other, human-factors completely overwhelmed the effect of price in determining whether a DUI attorney was a successful practitioner or not. This study appears to have not been performed for this niche in the past, and may be quite useful for those attorneys that wish to improve their practice.
