Guests driving EVs will receive free valet parking and a charge, compliments of Rivers Casino. Director of Facilities, Scott Goin said; “We applaud electric vehicle drivers for their commitment to cleaner air and lessened dependency on foreign oil. That’s why we’d like to offer them the convenience of free valet parking for electric cars and a free battery re-charge to boot.”
Rivers Casino applied to be the country’s first LEED certified casino designed, and was built with environmentally friendly materials and processes. Features such as preferred treatment for fuel-efficient vehicles support River’s commitment to green-friendly process and sustainability.
Two ShorePower Dual Level charging stations were installed by Kelso-Burnett Co, a leading Chicago area electrical construction firm. Although building the electric vehicle infrastructure is a growing trend, a number of charging station options already exist. When selecting the best units for the Rivers Casino project, it was important to receive objective advice from an expert.
“As a supplier representing multiple EV charging station brands, Plug-In Vehicle Solutions offered deep knowledge of the industry and objective advice about the best solution,” said Dan Maimonis, Kelso-Burntett’s director of preconstruction. “Today, as the EV charging infrastructure gains momentum, every electrical contractor needs to understand the options and opportunities for new installations.” In addition to ShorePower, charging station brands distributed by Plug-In Vehicle Solutions include Clipper Creek, Coulomb, Evatran and GoSmart.
