Announcing the Baby’s First Test Blogging Ambassadors
Mom bloggers will write about their personal newborn screening experience and the resources available on the newborn screening Clearinghouse, Baby’s First Test.
Five bloggers will use their blogs to spread the word about newborn screening and Baby’s First Test over the next several months.
The nonprofit organization, Cora’s Story, was a recipient of a 2012 Challenge Award, and will be heading up the blogger’s program. The program finishes up in August at the blogging conference, BlogHer when representatives from Cora’s Story and Baby’s First Test will be on hand with more newborn screening resources.
“The Mom Blogging community is expanding every day and we are excited to support this initiative to share information and stories about newborn screening.” Natasha Bonhomme Baby’s First Test Program Director said.
Besides the five chosen bloggers, resources will be placed on the Baby’s First Test website for all bloggers to use their blogs to spread the word about newborn screening.
The chosen bloggers include:
Emily Dickey of Baby Dickey (www.babydickey.com). Emily welcomed her second child, daughter Rebecca, in February. Emily birthed Rebecca at home and will write about her experience getting screening for Rebecca.
Casi Koon writes at both her own site, cupcakeMAG (www.cupcakemag.com) and the popular parenting site Babble. She’ll write about planning for newborn screening for her baby due this summer on both sites.
Becca Meyer is also known as Mama B. She blogs at Mama B (www.mamabblog.com) where she writes about daily life with her two boys and daughter on the way.
Christa Garrison writes for Little BGCG (www.littlebgcg.com). She’s mom to a two-year old boy and a baby that died at 18 weeks. Her daughter, Elena, was due in July. She’ll write about her daughter and the plans she had for newborn screening.
