James Brown - the world’s most sampled recording artist is back!

The mighty James Brown is back in the UK to perform at the Tower Music Festival.
Even though he’s not getting any younger and has recently celebrated his 73rd birthday (3rd of May). He’s still got the funk and is recognized today as the 20th century’s most prolific recording artist, influencing many other musical genres including reggae, rock, jazz, disco, electronic dance music and most famously hip-hop. Today James brown is the worlds most sampled recording artist, with “Funky Drummer” being the most sampled piece of music of all time.

Oh and by the way, here are three other facts about James Brown you might not know…
James Brown has tattoos for eyebrows.
James Brown appeared in The Tuxedo, a Jackie Chan film in which he is flipped and knocked unconscious.
James Brown holds the record for the most singles to chart in the US Billboard Top 100 without getting a number one.
It wasn’t through chance that his band became known for performing the tightest funk on the planet. “The Hardest-Working Man in Show Business” worked his band as hard as he worked himself, he ruled with an iron rod and once sacked half his band for asking for a small pay rise, he’s also known for docking band members pay for missing a note.

James Brown’s July performance will be a rare opportunity to see the funk/soul legend and his band perform in the iconic “Tower of London”, a small, intimate venue making this a gig not to be missed, and at 73 this could be your last opportunity to see the legend in on a tour.
