EE selects hybris to support its Digital Program
hybris software, an SAP company and the world’s fastest-growing commerce platform provider, today announced that the UK’s largest mobile network operator EE has selected the hybris Commerce Suite and its hybris Telco Accelerator to create unparalleled commerce experience for its customers.
EE has more than 26 million customers, and offers Orange, T-Mobile and EE plans. EE was the UK’s first operator to launch 4G, and already has 3.6 million 4G customers.
“Having established ourselves at the top of the market, our next focus is to ensure that we can maintain our competitive edge with our customers, continuing to forge the way as the most advanced digital communications company in Britain,” explained Dominic Collins, Director of Digital, EE. “In order to do this, we need a commerce platform that could support our core business digitally, and also extend into other channels, customer touchpoints and product categories.”
EE will leverage the hybris Telco Accelerator which comes bundled with the hybris Commerce Suite and includes capabilities aimed at helping carriers launch fully functional commerce experiences for customers. hybris has developed the telecoms-specific Telco Accelerator product, pre-packaging configurations and extensions to its products to meet the complex needs of communications service providers (CSPs). Key to hybris’ telecoms strategy is that its CSP offerings are specifically designed for the industry, unlike other general retail solutions that require customized professional services to adapt them for CSP use.
The Mobile, Customer Service and Order Management modules within the hybris solution enables operators to optimize customer service and customer retention levels.
Moritz Zimmermann, CTO at hybris, added: “Digital is an increasingly important area both for commerce and account management in the telco space, and we’re very happy to be helping a market giant such as EE to offer a superior digital experience for its customers with our bespoke, sector-specific applications.”
