Pulitzer on the Road Podcast

WEBWIRE

The Pulitzer Prizes has launched the Pulitzer on the Road Podcast. A press release about this new series is available here.

Click here to listen to the first episode: “Small Town Shakedown.”

“Small Town Shakedown” features host and Pulitzer Board member Nicole Carroll on the road in Brookside, Alabama with AL.com journalists John Archibald and Ashley Remkus. Archibald and Remkus were part of a team that won a 2023 Local Reporting Prize for a highly impactful series that exposed how the town’s police force preyed on residents to inflate departmental revenue. (Previously, Archibald received the 2018 Commentary Prize for “lyrical and courageous” columns on Alabama politics.) Throughout the episode, Carroll, Archibald and Remkus are in conversation with Poynter Institute President Neil Brown, the Pulitzer Board’s 2022-2024 co-chair.

Released weekly through April 29, the six-episode series will feature interviews with 2023 winners in Journalism and Books, exploring the stories behind their intricate and vital work.

Subscribe to the podcast at Apple, Spotify, Amazon Music or wherever you get your podcasts.
