Number of U.S. Employees Working From Home Will Be 100 Million by 2010

CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA - The number of Americans working from home is on the increase due to wireless technology and a more favorable attitude towards balancing personal and professional life.

The trend of the stay-at-home worker is not going away soon and will likely become the norm. The International Telework Association and Council estimates that by 2010, the number of U.S. employees teleworking will increase from the current 26 million to 100 million. Since many positive outcomes result from more workers staying at home -- like saved fuel, decreased traffic congestion and reduced greenhouse gas emissions -- setting up a home office can be an important investment.
