Thomson Acquires NexCura

Patient Information and Communications Added to Healthcare Solutions

STAMFORD, Conn., 11/07/2005, The Scientific & Healthcare group of The Thomson Corporation announced the acquisition of NexCura – adding highly targeted patient education and communications to its healthcare information business. Already a provider of authoritative and trusted healthcare information, Thomson says NexCura strengthens its healthcare solutions with critically important tools and channels to help clinicians and others better communicate with patients. Thomson Scientific & Healthcare is a part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) – a leader in information solutions for healthcare professionals. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

NexCura delivers timely medical information to targeted groups of patients. Through patented online decision support tools, patients receive personalized medical information relevant to their conditions.
