Hundreds of Tourists Sick at Moevenpick Resort Hotel in Taba, Egypt

A hotel complex in Egypt is causing major concern as reports of hundreds of tourists becoming ill after staying at the Moevenpick Resort Hotel in Taba, Egypt have been received.

Andrew Morton, Head of the Travel Litigation at Manchester solicitors, Pannone LLP, said “Management at the Moevenpick Resort Hotel in Taba are claiming the outbreak of sickness and diarrhoea is a result of a virus brought in by holidaymakers, but all the evidence points to the illness being caused by food poisoning and poor hygiene standards.”

Commenting further Andrew Morton said, “We have reports of children and adults on drips in hospital, and of families facing doctors’ bills that run into hundreds of pounds. One report from a nurse who stayed there and whose family party of nine were all affected by the sickness said that the tour representative tried to tell them the bug was brought in from the UK, but she knew this wasn’t how a virus normally behaves.”

Another comment about the Moevenpick Hotel posted on the Internet says “the food was disgusting it sat there hour after hour and the meat was unrecognisable.”

Travel solicitors at Pannone are investigating the situation on behalf of the British tourists affected, and will be putting forward their claims for compensation.

Anyone who has stayed at the Moevenpick Resort Hotel in Taba, Egypt and suffered illness during their stay should consult their doctor upon return to the UK, and if they do not receive a satisfactory response from the tour operator, should consider legal action.
