BooksOnBoard Releases Bestsellers for Beginning of June

Charlaine Harris and Stephenie Meyer dominate the BooksOnBoard (www.BooksOnBoard.com) eBooks bestseller list for the first nine days of June. Charlaine Harris’s latest southern vampire eBook mystery in the bestselling Sookie Stackhouse series, From Dead to Worse, continued to add new fans more than a month after its release, ranking number 2 on the bestseller list. Also benefitting from the Charlaine Harris wave is The Julius House, the recently-released fourth book in Harris’s well-crafted Aurora Teagarden series, which ranked eighth on the list.

Stephenie Meyer’s first venture into adult fiction, The Host (romantic science fiction), made the bestseller list again, more than a month after its debut. Meyer’s Twilight Fantasy Series also enjoyed a surge in popularity. In addition to The Host, BooksOnBoard’s special edition Twilight Fantasy eBook bundle (containing the Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse eBooks) ranked in the top ten bestsellers.

“Harris and Meyers both really capture the reader’s imagination,” according to Bob LiVolsi, BooksOnBoard CEO. “Once readers get a taste, they often go back and read these authors’ other eBooks, as with the current spike in sales of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series.”

Devil May Care, Sebastian Faulks’s acclaimed new addition to the James Bond series, topped the bestseller list. Released on James Bond creator Ian Fleming’s birthday, May 28, Devil May Care immediately leapt to the top of the charts.

LiVolsi said, “Other authors have released sequels to the Bond novels, but I don’t recall any so eagerly anticipated. Faulks retains the glamour and adventure characteristic of the original Ian Fleming novels, and the Cold War setting is familiar turf for Bond fans.”

Perennial thriller bestsellers John Connolly, Dean Koontz, Alan Furst and Clive Cussler also ranked in the top 10. Philip Pullman’s The Golden Compass made the bestseller list more than 10 years after its release.

Bestselling paranormal romance author J.R. Ward again led the eBook Romance category with Lover Enshrined, the newest title in her Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Lori Foster, Gena Showalter, Kresley Cole, Shelly Laurenston and Cynthia Eden followed in that order, driven by successful new eBook romance releases. Romance favorites Jacquelyn Frank, Showalter and Cole all made the list with Paranormal Romances featuring vampires.
