Gardening Express Releases World Exclusive to the UK Market

Chelmsford, Essex, UK – Oct. 23 – Gardening Express, a leader in the online gardening sector, has today released a World Exclusive to the UK market – the world’s first, truly dwarf, patio buddleia – Lo & Behold™ Buddleja Blue Chip.

Buddleja Blue Chip is the first in a new generation of the ever-popular buddleia butterfly bush, that is truly a dwarf, perpetually flowering and genuinely patio sized plant.

The result of painstaking breeding in the U.S., the plant has undergone extensive trials, including with the RHS here in the UK, and has already proven itself as a unique world first, and looks to be a run away success.

This special plant joins the expanding stable of new and exclusive plants offered by Gardening Express in recent years. It joins other recently introduced Buddlejas offered by the firm; “Bicolor”, with a two colour in one flower bloom-stalk, and “Silver Anniversay” with ghostly, fuzzy foliage.

Startlingly dwarf, it’s not really like a traditional Buddleja at all, generally growing wider than high, and reaching around 60cms/2ft tall maximum. “Our competitors offering is said to reach 120cms/4ft, and I feel at that size could still be a little unruly, where Blue Chip will never get near that,” added Bonnett. Not only that, but Blue Chip was voted as the 2nd most popular variety of Buddleja with the visiting public at the RHS trial grounds.

Amongst a tough economic backdrop, Bonnett recently commented: “Green Shoots are our business”, this world exclusive looks like a sure fire winner, with a coup on this new product, it’s no wonder he’s upbeat for the future. More exclusives have already been promised to be announced by the firm.
