SiBEAM, Inc., Receives Prestigious EE Times ACE Award for “Most Promising New Technology”
Sunnyvale, Calif. – April 8, 2009 – SiBEAM, Inc., a leading innovator of millimeter wave (mmWave) solutions and developer of high-speed wireless communications platforms, announced today that its WirelessHD® semiconductor solutions with Omnilink60™ technology received the 2009 EE Times ACE Award for “Most Promising New Technology”.
The EE Times ACE Awards recognize the people, companies and products that demonstrate leadership and innovation in the global electronics industry. Awards are presented in 20 categories and judged by a blue-ribbon panel of industry experts comprised of the leading voices of academia, industry and Wall Street executives. The EE Times ACE Awards were presented CMP Media’s Embedded Systems Conference in Silicon Valley on April 1, 2009.
“We are honored to receive this award from the EE Times,” said John LeMoncheck, President and CEO of SiBEAM. “SiBEAM strives to be at the forefront of groundbreaking millimeter wave technologies, and to have our core solution named ‘Most Promising’ is a testament to the exciting and innovative products we are bringing to market.”
As a founding member of the WirelessHD Consortium, SiBEAM’s products are based on the WirelessHD 1.0 specification and have entered mass production levels to support broadly expanded partner product development activity. Breaking speed barriers by transferring video, audio and data at up to 4Gbps, these chipsets operate in the 60GHz band and are the first to be developed and produced in standard CMOS.
"This year’s ACE Awards winners developed industry-changing technologies for consumer electronics, mobile devices, green engineering and renewable energy" said Junko Yoshida, editor-in-chief, EE Times. "SiBEAM’s recognition for this award is a direct result of the company’s creativity, ingenuity and commitment to excellence"
SiBEAM’s groundbreaking Omnilink60-based WirelessHD chipsets will be used in consumer electronics products such as HDTVs and Blu-ray players from the world’s leading CE manufacturers. These WirelessHD chipsets offer CE manufacturers not only the lowest cost, but also the highest quality wireless video solution for consumer electronics and display applications. SiBEAM’s WirelessHD technology seamlessly combines high-definition video and multi-channel audio and data into a wireless digital connection, eliminating the need for costly, confusing, and unsightly cables. SiBEAM’s technology is the only option available today that is capable of wirelessly streaming true lossless, Full HD 1080p/60 video, the most popular TV resolution sold in the U.S. today.
